coolOrange powerPLM: Connect Autodesk Vault to Fusion Manage
coolOrange powerPLM connects Autodesk Vault (PDM) to Autodesk Fusion Manage (PLM). Engineering BOMs flow out to Fusion Manage, and change tasks flow back to Vault as engineering change orders. It comes with three standard workflows, and you can change them or add your own with PowerShell scripting.

What's the Benefit of Connecting Vault with Fusion Manage?
Vault manages CAD files and engineering BOMs. Fusion Manage runs company-wide processes such as change management, new product introduction, and supplier collaboration. Connecting them means the BOM in Fusion Manage always matches engineering, and changes approved in Fusion Manage reach the engineers in Vault without anyone re-entering data.
powerPLM Workflows
powerPLM ships with three workflows that coolOrange developed with Autodesk. Each one can be adjusted in a configuration dialog, without scripting.
BOM Transfer from Vault to Fusion Manage
The Vault item BOM populates Fusion Manage automatically. powerPLM creates the items, uploads attachments, and handles raw materials, purchased parts, BOM row properties, and multiple instances of the same item. You choose the target Fusion Manage workspace and map properties in the configuration dialog.
Change Management between Fusion Manage and Vault
Change tasks captured in Fusion Manage are transferred to Vault engineering change orders. The involved items and files are attached automatically, so engineers get the change in the system they already work in.
New Production Introduction
Pre-project data in Fusion Manage is used to create the related project in Vault, so new products start with the right structure and properties.

Customization: Every workflow is a PowerShell script. You can change any of them, or write new ones with the powerJobs and powerVault cmdlets.
- Checks in the Vault client: With powerEvents and Vault Data Standard, powerPLM can check data against Fusion Manage during user actions. For example, it can block release of a part that doesn't meet PLM rules.
- Job processing: powerPLM runs on powerJobs, so jobs that send data to Fusion Manage are processed by the Vault Job Processor.

Autodesk's Vault Connector is a free, built-in sync between Vault Professional and Fusion Manage. powerPLM is for companies that need change management, new product introduction, or custom workflows on top of that sync.
