What is Autodesk Vault?

Autodesk Vault is product data management (PDM) software that stores, organizes, and controls engineering and design files in one central, secure location. CAD users check files out to edit them and check them back in, so no one overwrites anyone else's work, and every check-in saves a new version with full history.

Vault connects directly to Autodesk design tools such as Inventor and AutoCAD through add-ins, manages the relationships between parts, assemblies, and drawings, and helps teams find, reuse, and release the right version of every design. Vault runs on Microsoft Windows, on a Vault Server your company hosts.

Access anywhere: Work from desktop, browser, or mobile. Vault Gateway provides secure remote access without a VPN, and the Thin Client gives browser-based access to design data, BOMs, and change orders.
Integration and automation: Connect Vault to ERP and other business systems with Vault Data APIs, and offload file processing from CAD workstations with the Job Processor.
Data recovery and archiving: Restore deleted files from the trash bin and archive completed or obsolete projects to manage data growth.
