Remote Hands-On Vault Workshop: One Source of Truth for Multiple CAD Systems

Inventor. AutoCAD Electrical. SolidWorks. Your engineering data is spread across multiple CAD tools, but your product record doesn't have to be. In this live, fully remote workshop, you'll work directly in Autodesk Vault and see how manufacturers bring data from every system into one controlled source of truth.

From your own computer, you'll check in files, build Item structures, run a release cycle, and process an engineering change. A guide leads each step, but the keyboard is yours.

Autodesk software is not required on the attendee's computer in order to participate in this workshop. All attendees will receive remote access to software to a virtual environment.

Who Should Attend

  • Engineering leaders
  • PLM/PDM evaluators
  • CAD administrators
  • Anyone responsible for managing product data across multiple design tools

No Vault experience is required — just familiarity with how your team's design data moves (or doesn't) between CAD systems today.

What You'll Do

  1. Get design data under control. Create new Inventor files and check them into Vault.
  2. Build one structure from three CAD systems. Create Items from Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, and SolidWorks data, then combine them into a single master assembly and bill of materials.
  3. Run a real release cycle. Move the full multi-CAD structure from work-in-progress to an approved, controlled state.
  4. Process an engineering change. Revise the Inventor assembly, update the Item, and release the new revision from open to closed.
  5. See it from the other side. View released data in the Vault Thin Client the way purchasing, quality, or the shop floor would, with no CAD software required.

Multi-CAD, unified.

Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, and SolidWorks data in one bill of materials and one revision history.

Real change control.

A full revise-and-release cycle, not just file versioning.

Access beyond engineering.

Read-only, always-current released data for teams outside the CAD seat.
