What is AutoCAD Raster Design?
AutoCAD Raster Design is one of seven specialized toolsets included with Autodesk AutoCAD. It lets you open, clean up, and edit raster images, such as scanned paper drawings, old blueprints, and georeferenced imagery, directly in AutoCAD, and convert them into editable vector linework.
Because it works inside AutoCAD, you edit raster content with the same commands you already use for lines, arcs, and circles. Autodesk reports productivity gains of up to 48% on common raster design tasks with the toolset.
AutoCAD Raster Design Features
Raster-to-Vector Conversion
Use vectorization tools to create lines and polylines from raster images and convert scanned drawings into editable vector drawings.
Image Cleanup and Editing
Despeckle, bias, mirror, and touch up scanned images so old drawings are clean and readable.
Raster Entity Manipulation (REM)
Select and edit raster regions and shapes (lines, arcs, circles) with standard AutoCAD commands, as if they were vector objects.
Georeferenced Images for Civil and Mapping
Display and analyze geo images in Civil 3D and AutoCAD Map 3D.
