AutoCAD
LT software is known for its efficiency, power, and reliability. And
now it‘s better than ever. AutoCAD LT 2010 has more of the 2D
features customers have been asking for like ALIGN, xref tools, and
block attribute commands. High-quality PDF output means users can easily
share drawings with almost anyone. And users can save time by attaching
PDFs as an underlay in drawing files. Professional drafting and
detailing software now has even more ways to increase productivity.
What’s New
PDF Underlay Capability: AutoCAD LT 2010 enables users to attach a PDF file to an AutoCAD LT drawing as an underlay. Users can work with PDF underlays in the same way they work with other external references including DWG™, DWF™, DGN, and image files, even snapping to key points on PDF geometry.
Improved PDF Output: PDF output now provides higher quality than was previously available. TrueType fonts are exported as text rather than as graphics which improves the visual quality of text, reduces file size, and also enables highlighting, searching, and copying text within the PDF viewer.
External Reference Commands: External reference commands previously only available in AutoCAD® software have now been included in AutoCAD LT 2010. In-place Reference Editing (REFEDIT) enables the user to make changes directly to a referenced file without opening it. The ability to clip an external reference is now fully functional, allowing users to specify clipping boundaries, turn them on or off, and even invert them.
Block Attribute Commands: Synchronize Attributes (ATTSYNC) command updates all instances of a block to reflect the new attributes when attribute definitions are added or removed, The Enhanced Attribute Editor tool can be used to quickly change properties of individual attributes.
Align Objects: A much-requested command, ALIGN enables users to pick points to move, scale, and/or rotate an object to bring it into alignment with another object.
Improved User Interface Enhancements: The ribbon interface has been updated to provide even greater flexibility, easier access to tools, and consistency across Autodesk applications. The Quick Access toolbar has also been enhanced, with history support for the Undo and Redo commands and new tools for easily configuring the display and location of the toolbar. The Application menu has been streamlined to provide easy access to common file-related tools. Users can create, open, save, print, and publish AutoCAD LT files, send the current drawing as an email attachment, and produce electronic transmittal sets.
New DWG file format: AutoCAD LT 2010 uses an updated DWG file format. The built-in SaveAs function allows users to save drawings to and from AutoCAD LT releases using previous DWG formats. In addition, the SaveAs AutoCAD Release 12 DXF™ command supports releases prior to AutoCAD LT 98.
