Now
in 3D!
Use Autodesk® DWF™ Viewer to view and print 2D and 3D
drawings, maps, and models in DWF™ format—the industry standard for
sharing data-rich design files electronically. Small, fast, and
secure, the DWF format preserves the fidelity and integrity of
designs. Access complex design data without the originating design
application.
Autodesk® DWF™ Viewer is the free application for viewing and printing 2D and 3D DWF™ (Design Web Format™) files. All kinds of people need to see design information during the project lifecycle, and not everyone has the software that created it. But that doesn’t matter when you use DWF–the file format developed specifically for sharing data-rich design information. Small, fast, and secure, DWF preserves the fidelity and integrity of designs and allows anyone to access the complex design data without the originating design application. DWF files are easy to create and post to the web, and they support up to 60 million dpi – the precision required for complex design data.
Some of the new things you can do with Autodesk Viewer 5:
What is Design Web Format (DWF)?
DWF is an open, secure file format developed by Autodesk for
distributing rich design data to anyone needing to view, review, or
print design information. Because DWF files are highly compressed, they
are much smaller and faster to transmit, enabling efficient
communication of rich design data without the overhead associated with
typical CAD drawings. DWF files cannot be edited and are not a
replacement for native CAD formats such as DWG. The purpose of DWF is to
enable designers, engineers, developers, and their colleagues to
communicate design information and intent to anyone who needs to review
that information. Users can mark up and redistribute those files without
changing the original design data.
