Autodesk Vault is Autodesk’s integrated data management solution included with Autodesk Inventor and other AutoCAD-based software packages.

To take best advantage of this solution, Autodesk recommends that its customers use the services of an experienced data management provider – like Hagerman & Company, Inc.

The Hagerman Package
Hagerman & Company's recommended services package includes:
• On-site implementation services and consulting
• Autodesk Vault training and documentation
• 30 Days of phone support
• Optional Vault Data Prep Tools software by Hagerman & Company

Optional Software
• Autodesk Productstream® – Allows users to extend the power of Autodesk Vault to include release management, ECO processing, bills of materials, ERP integration and sharing of released data with other company departments and locations.
• QVP Connection® from Hagerman & Company – Enables non-CAD users to query, view and print documents stored in Autodesk Vault. (Also requires customer supplied viewing and printing software. Ask Hagerman & Company about options.)

On-Site Implementation

DAY 1 >> Planning and Installation
• Review objectives and plan scope of the project
• Review network, server and computer configurations
• Install Autodesk Vault (MSDE version) on Vault server computer
• Install Autodesk Vault client software on up to (4) computers
• Review Inventor files and other data to be imported into Vault
• Develop plan for data migration and roll out of Vault

DAY 2 >> Training and
Implementation Assistance
• Autodesk Vault best practice review
• Autodesk Vault administration training
• Autodesk Vault user training (for up to 8 users)
• Assistance with file/data organization and clean up

>> Expected Outcomes
Following the completion of the above two days, personnel within your organization should be able to:
• Backup and maintain the Vault server
• Train additional Vault end users
• Begin using Autodesk Vault to manage CAD and other
types of files
• Complete/modify the Autodesk Vault implementation
• Clean up and import remaining files and data into Vault

Optional Data Prep Tools Software
In order to use Autodesk Vault effectively, users need an easy and time efficient method for preparing their existing files to load into Vault. To accomplish this end, Hagerman & Company has developed the Vault Data Prep Tools software application to work with Autodesk Vault. This optional application will allow customers to utilize information from existing data sources such as Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Access or other databases, ERP systems and legacy data management systems by populating data from these sources into Autodesk Inventor and other files before they are imported into Autodesk Vault using the standard Vault file import capabilities.
